The Night of Staggering Movies in Luhans’k
The Thirty Second of May IV Festival of Social Juvenile Movies will be held on the night of 3 / 4 June 2011 in Luhans’k. The Festival is timed to celebrate the International Children’s Day.
The Festival opens at 9.00 pm. Venue – the Square of Memory (Skver Pam’yati).
The Festival aim is to inform the society about systematic violations of children’s rights in Ukraine, to actualize problems of domestic violence and to engage youth in active actions aimed to prevent domestic violence and protect its victims.
“We’ve selected movies that will not leave even the most hardened viewers indifferent. Our movies are for adults who are aware of domestic violence. It is not a surprise that we are used to giving children balloons and candies on the Children’s Day. We believe it to be the first step towards withholding the problem. Adults must protect children from cruel treatment rather then humiliating them with gratifications. The Thirty Second of May Festival gives an opportunity to establish constructive dialogue”, said Yulia Krasil’nikova, the Festival organizer and the Head of Luhans’k Cinema Club.
